First and foremost, I have the up most respect for housekeepers. I used to run my own cleaning business for years before I decided to trade it in for the full time, stay at home mom gig. I really do not know who has it easier. I know who gets paid better, much better. The stay at home mom job is fulfilling, but most days it is thankless and there is no time off.
I am sitting here in my living room looking at a room that was clean twenty minutes ago. Since then, youngest child has force fed his Little People bananas, strewn cars on every flat surface, and gotten into the Play Doh I begged middle child not to leave down last night. This was because mommy needed to run to potty, and I really thought a banana would keep youngest child occupied. I was not wrong.

School is out in 2.5 days. Last night, I had an epiphany. Each summer, I end up sulking like a child because I am annoyed at all of the fighting and chaos that erupts in the household. I have decided to nip it in the bud before it starts. Starting Friday morning, the older children will get punch cards. These cards can be redeemed for treats after they are completely filled out. Middle child's card is pictured below.
The idea is to limit the fighting and messes which typically accompany summer break and add to mommy's bad moods. The treats can be something as simple as going to the ice cream stand, tv time, etc. It all depends on your household. In our home we have a chore list and a good deed list. If you want your child to have their own printable punch card check out the Giveaways page here
