A few weeks ago, I was able to do a review on an amazing set of books and products, called Bucket Fillers. Now, we are a Bucket Filling family. After the Bucket Fillers post, I learned about an amazing play called, Have You Filed a Bucket Today? The Play. This amazing play was written by Ann Marie Gardinier Halstead. She is an Associate Professor and Co-Chair of the Performance and Communication Arts Department at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. The play Have You Filled a Bucket Today? is her first adaptation.

The new play Have You Filled a Bucket Today? is a modern take on the golden rule with humor, heart, and larger-than-life characters. Based on Carol McCloud’s award-winning books, the play tells the story of Trey, a 4th grade student who learns about bucket filling from his summer camp counselor and her memorable friends.
Ann Marie has done an amazing job adapting Carol McCloud's books into this beautiful play. It is heartwarming and genuine. From a parent's perspective, it is something that everyone can relate to. If you have not heard of the Bucket Filler books, read my review here
This play is wonderful for schools, camps, and theater groups. It is easily adaptable to all situations. Schools can produce the play with either student or staff actors. A middle or high school drama club could present the play to the elementary school(s) in their district. The running time of 45-50 minutes is perfect for a school assembly.
Have You Filled a Bucket Today? sends such a wonderfully positive message that both parents and children love it. To Find out more about this uplifting presentation, visit Ann Marie's site here.
