Yoga for weight loss? Is it really possible? Scientifically?

That's what I always wondered whenever someone mentioned they lost a 'ton of weight' by doing Yoga. But wait a minute, isn't Yoga all about those poses and stuff? How would that help in losing weight?
Well, that's what let me to go undercover and that's what we see in today's article.

So technically, most Yoga exercises lead to the burning of about 300-350 calories in a session that lasts about 70-80 minutes.

Although that sounds wonderful, remember that doing Yoga for that long requires much experience and expertise, however, a session lasting about 30 minutes is very much possible and will help you burn about 100-150 calories. Anyone who wants to lose weight with Yoga needs to consider this fact before they begin...

Those who are a little on the heavier side, or are beginners should start off by going to (local) classes. Usually, beginners are taught warm-up poses that include saluting the sun and standing back up, followed by backbends and stretches.

Also, you need to bear in mind that yoga should be practiced under the supervision of trainers or experienced tutors.

All in all, remember that yoga is not just another type of exercise. It goes much beyond that. It WILL help you a lot in your weight loss journey. However, I will also say that don't completely rely on yoga. It is also necessary to accompany it with a healthy nutrition plan.
